Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024: Celebrating Excellence in the Trade Industry

In a bid to find the very best in trade talent, Screwfix has announced that entries are now open for the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024 competition. Since its inception in 2010, this prestigious annual award has seen 14 of the nation’s finest tradespeople honoured with the coveted title.

The Screwfix Top Tradesperson award celebrates the exceptional work carried out by tradespeople, shining a light on their professionalism and dedication to promoting and supporting the future of the industry. Last year, the top prize was awarded to Devon-based carpenter Astrid Arnold, who exemplified these qualities.

Tradespeople from the UK and Ireland are invited to enter the competition or can be nominated by employers, customers, or friends. The process is straightforward: simply fill out the online application form at screwfix.com/stt or screwfix.ie/stt before the deadline on Sunday, 14 July.

Once entries close, standout applicants will be shortlisted to participate in a semi-final interview in August. From these semi-finalists, ten exceptional tradespeople will be selected to compete in the final at Screwfix Live in Farnborough on Friday, 27 September. There, they will go head-to-head in front of a panel of esteemed industry experts.

The winner will join the ranks of previous champions such as Astrid Arnold (2023), Toby Peacock (2022), and Dan Lloyd (2021) in the Screwfix Hall of Fame. Along with the title, the winner will receive an incredible trade bundle worth £20,000/€20,000, including tech, tools, and training to help boost their business.

Jack Wallace, Marketing Director at Screwfix, emphasises the importance of the competition: “Screwfix Top Tradesperson is all about recognising the incredible contribution that tradespeople make day in, day out. Although only one person can take home the title, this award aims to celebrate everyone in the trade – from electricians to plumbers, builders to painters, and carpenters to roofers – while showcasing just how rewarding a career in the industry can be.

“There’s an abundance of exceptional talent across the board, but we’re particularly looking for someone who goes the extra mile for their customers and acts as an ambassador for the industry, helping to inspire the next generation of tradespeople.

“The calibre of applications we receive year on year is phenomenal, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s entrants bring to the table.”

With the competition now open, tradespeople across the UK and Ireland have a chance to showcase their skills and dedication, and possibly take home the title of Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be recognised as one of the best in the industry. Submit your entry today!
