C&G 2396 Design & Verification
Before an electrical installation can be erected, any such system will first have to be designed as to ensure all the specifications, equipment, accessibility, maintainability and verification are in accordance with the current legislation and be fit for purpose.

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at those who will have responsibility for designing, supervising, installing and testing electrical installations.
Before undertaking this qualification candidates should seriously consider undertaking the Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations and/or Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations as well as obtaining industry experience. It is also strongly recommended that candidates have achieved a certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations 18th Edition (BS7671) qualifications

This course will be delivered over 5 full days (which will either be delivered over 2 weeks or 5 weekends). This is a theoretical course and as such is a virtual classroom based and / or online programme.

You will be expected to produce a design project which is set by City and Guilds and this should take around 40 hours of work split between the classroom and personal time. You will also undertake a 2 hour 30 minutes open book written examination.

Online course in a virtual classroom
Maximum group size: 8 people
This course will be delivered over 5 full days (which will either be delivered over 2 weeks or 5 weekends). This is a theoretical course and as such is a classroom based and / or online programme.
During sessions, you will be required to work on an assignment as well as covering a range of topics that include the statutory and non-statutory requirements for the design of electrical installations, underpinning principles of system design and the design, construction and verification process including certification requirements.
Exams and assessments
You will be expected to produce a design project which is set by City and Guilds and this should take around 40 hours of work split between the classroom and personal time. You will also undertake a 2 hour 30 minutes open book written examination.
To ensure that you are ready and able to complete these assessments successfully you will be working through the course books and be provided with the necessary work pack, notes and example questions and be given ample time and guidance to work on your individual design projects. This tried and tested approach has proven successful with previous candidates as is proven by our exceptionally high pass rate.
The exam date is standardised by City & Guilds (C&G) and is conducted three times annually, uniformly across all training providers and colleges in the UK. These nationwide examinations are scheduled for March, June, and December, specifically on a Thursday evening at 6:30 pm.
